Introduction
The focus for my exam this year is transformation. I have decided that I will chose to look at the idea of decay and how many things go through this common process therefore identifying that it is not a restricted form of change. This give me the opportunity to look at both natural and materialistic things as they both stand the chance of breaking and becoming futile and in turn going through the process of decaying. In turn by focusing on this a wide range of ideas and opportunities become open to me. It is more importantly a part of life, and therefore all things must and shall one day either break or die, therefore you could argue that there are very few restrictions in the creative process of this particular sub-topic. You could also argue that it is the most important and notable form of transformation. As time goes on, things fade away and leave room for newer more innovative things to take their place, therefore an essential part of world development is the different forms of decay that we see happening around us everyday everywhere. Hopefully, as well as representing decay in the more standard ways, I will be able to show them in a more obscure and creative light (i.e. for my experimentations) potentially highlighting decay or things that relate to it in ways that people wouldn't necessarily consider obvious but still relevant to the topic at hand. I hope to end the project by not only showing what an impact the process of decay has on us, but also how it relates to and ties in with the art of photography and how it has played a part in process of assisting with photography to make it a more established art form.
